Sara has two different roles when teaching her class, depending if she’s teaching the peers or special needs students. Maybe offer some food truck vendors a couple rotating spaces so we can have more variety-Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean, etc.Peers in Learning is a class led by special education instructor Sara Evans that allows students known as “peers” to be a role model and friend to special needs students.Īccording to Sara, the peers “model what it’s like to be a student” so it’s important for them to set a good example for the entire class time. ![]() A hot Dog stand (one of those rolling carts that could move and not have to have a permanent sign or corner). The Bakery was outshone by the baked goods display at The Roasterie.įresh Flower/Fresh fruit market would be lovely. More vendors: I felt a little bad for the two local outfits who did not have as fancy displays or signs. What would I wish this space had more of? Can the upstairs space do cooking demos more often? The other part wants to see more stores and to get closer to the Public Market in Philadelphia which is much bigger, but hopping with different food vendors including fresh meats and produce. Part of me will mourn the available space when it gets more popular. Nitrogen frozen ice cream is fun to watch and fast. They were advertising Happy Hour, so I'm sure they exist, but I could not see them or know how to order. There was a sign for a winery, but I was not sure if they were part of Chewology, or a ghost vendor. When the weather gets warmer, the outside tables will get full use. There are games on the tables, encouraging you to hang out while you eat or have coffee. THe Pros: I love the sunny, laidback atmosphere. Service at Topp'd on Sunday was a little.disinterested, shall we say? Some of the food prices are higher than I would pay on a regular basis. The Cons are that the place does seem to not be filling its full potential of having more vendors. There are a few eating places: Topp'd (pizza, salad and grinders), Madman's (BBQ, Chili Dogs, tacos and the most important-Nitrogen frozen ice cream), Chewology (dumplings, noodles rice), The Roasterie Café and a couple local vendors selling tamales, baked goods and gifts. We actually stayed for lunch and played cards. So they are making this a place to encourage community gathering. The place has several tables and a comfy sitting area along with several board and card games. There is two levels, but only I food place upstairs, the rest were down stairs. However, there is an indoor public market that has several "booths" that apparently food vendors and arts and craft vendors can rent (if I understand the concept) on a weekly basis. They run that market on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. The outdoor farmer's market was line up against the public parking structure. around, I ended up parking in their parking structure which is free public parking. First of all there is a lot of construction going on in the area. I was doing farmer's market with friends and she told me that Lenexa now has a farmer's market so we checked it out.
